Not even superstar rappers could get into the Miami Heat locker room after the team's 95-88 victory over the San Antonio Spurs last night. According to Sports Illustrated Drake tried to congratulate the team in their locker room after the big win, but was denied access since he didn't have a media pass.
A video shows Drake and his entourage walking in and getting rejected. "That's Drizzy Drake" someone on the video tries to explain to security, who clearly aren't budging. Drake, in disbelief that he was being denied because he didn't have a media pass, responded bluntly with: "I am media."
Reporter Alex Kennedy of Hoops World tweeted about the incident. “Drake was stopped by security [as] he tried to getting in the locker room without [a] media pass." Sports writer Shandel Richardson echoed the sentiment with, “I got in the locker room [and] Drake was denied access.”
Access wasn't an issue earlier this week when Drake played surprise guest at J. Cole's Dollar & A Dream show in NYC. Drizzy surprised fans during the second of two shows at Irving Plaza, where he performed "In The Morning" and a short set that included his own "Started From The Bottom."
